COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Is the ETQ wide enough? If you cut open the most widely used TQ by LE and Militaries around the world you’ll find that it’s only a 1” wide piece of inner webbing that’s doing the constricting. The outer 1.5” sleeve does not constrict. Don’t believe us, try tightening one of those on a foam roller next to the ETQ™ for 30 min. You’ll see they leave the same imprint. 1” wide.

1” has been good enough to stop the bleed for years. If you want a wider TQ, take a look out our ETQ Wide™.

  • What kind of testing was performed? The ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ have been proven to cut off blood flow using doppler and ultrasound at a level 5 trauma unit. We went through extensive testing of its durability and windlass strength in extreme weather conditions. Watch the Torture Test Here.

  • Does the ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ work on children and K9’s? We kept small diameter limbs in mind during the design process. It can constrict down to 1” diameter, which is significantly smaller than other TQ’s, making it a great option for children and dogs.

  • Is the ETQ CoTCCC recommended? Contrary to popular belief, manufacturers cannot submit tourniquets to the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) for review whenever they want. Instead, CoTCCC organizes review sessions at their choosing. CoTCCC has only done two TQ reviews in the last 20 years, the most recent of which was in 2019.

Therefore, the ETQ and ETQ Wide have not yet been reviewed by the CoTCCC.

We’ve been in regular contact with CoTCCC members however, there is no indication that another TQ review is happening any time soon. In fact, there are indications that CoTCCC will no longer be doing TQ reviews at all.

In lieu of this we’re currently working with several universities to conduct independent, published, clinical trials on our ETQs however none of them have concluded at the moment.

We’ve also done numerous color doppler ultrasound tests, some of which are posted on the “Videos” tab on our website.

We will continue to pursue independent, third-party testing and publish the data as it becomes available, so customers can make their own informed decisions.

  • Will you offer different colors? Not at this time but in the future we will have other color options to be used for trainers.

  • Warranty: While tourniquets are inherently a one-time use item we stand behind our product. ETQ’s come with a lifetime warranty covering any manufacturing defects. This does not include repeated use as a trainer. Contact us for warranty and returns.

  • International Shipments: We do not ship directly to international customers. International customers will be able to make purchases through dealers in their own country or region at a later date.

  • Free Samples: We get hundreds of requests for free evaluation samples everyday. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to send free samples to everyone. We may send samples to those representing medical, law enforcement, and military organizations but not to individuals. Requests must be made by organizational leadership or via memorandum on agency letterhead signed by agency leadership.

  • Discounts: We are now offering first responder discounts. Contact support@snakestaffsystems.com from your agency or department email address to be verified.
