ASSESS THE PATIENT

Get to safety and ensure the situation is safe.

Call 911 and ensure help is on the way.

Check for major bleeding across the patient’s entire body.

Check the patient’s airway to make sure it’s unobstructed.

Check the patient is breathing and has a pulse.

Keep the patient warm - hypothermia can set in quickly with blood loss.

Continually monitor the patient.

Ensure emergency medical services on on their way.
